The Max-Planck-Institute for Heart and Lung Research, Kerckhoff Institute, Department of Lung Development and Remodeling in Molecular Mechanisms in Lung Cancer and Department of Internal Medicine (Pulmonology / Oncology), at the Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (JLU) offers the position of a postdoctoral research fellow.
Our groups aim is to develop novel treatment strategies for lung cancer, studying the molecular mechanisms, tumor microenvironment, immunotherapy and lung tumor imaging. Our international team offers an open, supportive, dynamic and motivating academic environment with excellent training opportunities. We use a wide spectrum of methods: cloning, cell culture, co cultures (2D and 3D), RNAseq, scRNAseq, FACS, ELISA, cell-based assays (proliferation, apoptosis, migration, invasion etc.), immunohistochemistry, multicolor immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, image analysis, lung tumor xenograft/orthotropic and transgenic mouse models. Place of work will be Bad Nauheim, we are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated applicant. Essential requirements for Postdoctoral position applicants should have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject with the appropriate experience and track record. For this position, good knowledge of tissue culture, molecular and cellular biology approaches, biological assays and cancer biology in general is essential. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also expected. Experience on co-culture systems, microscopy, mouse handling, mouse genetics, primary cell culture and cancer models will be advantageous.
